The generations of families that have come to vacation in the Wildwoods have commonly used one word to describe the reason – tradition. There is surely something in the combination of beach and boardwalk that makes this place the favorite of adults and kids alike. The descriptive words of the past were groovy and awesome, today they are thrill and chill, but either way they equal everything you want in a family vacation. The tradition is backed up by the Wildwoods being the recent recipient of TripAdvisor’s 25 Best family beach vacations to take with kids in the USA.
Complementing the beach tradition is the legendary two and a half miles of the Wildwoods boardwalk that overlooks the glorious beach. From Spring to Fall, this icon of the Jersey Cape is full of activity with spectacular amusement piers, world-class roller coasters, waterparks, shops and eateries. The boardwalk’s anchor attraction is Morey's Piers, a world-class attraction full of amusement rides for all ages, two water parks that definitely let you thrill or chill, and plenty of food, beverage and games. The boardwalk is also home to Splash Zone Waterpark, with the radical Flow Rider and plenty of water slides and features for the slightly less adventurous.
The Wildwoods have some of the most beautiful, wide and free beaches found anywhere along the east coast. But this beach is not just about sand castles and bodysurfing, it’s filled with exciting events like the National Marbles Tournament and International Kite Festival, Friday Night Fireworks in the summer, plus The Race of Gentlemen, where vintage cars race at the ocean’s edge. And just like on the beach, boardwalk special events are what brings everybody together and the Wildwoods Convention Center is the host of many of the best concerts, exhibits and sporting events. In between the days on the beach and the nights on the boardwalk, a new tradition can be made at the beautiful Byrne Plaza in Downtown Wildwood featuring entertaining events of music, shopping and more.
