The public is invited to attend a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony promptly at 11:15 AM followed by tours of the new facility alongside the Recreation Department and City Officials.
When remodeling began for the new library at Franklin Street School in 2021, the City took a survey of Cape May homeowners for the preferred future of 110 Ocean Street. The results are in, and they said community center!
“This project has been a labor of love and a hope of mine for the last four years, so I am thrilled to see it come to fruition”, says Kacie Rattigan, Director of Civic Affairs and Recreation. “Our current programs have been held at different locations throughout the City, but now we have a homebase and look forward to offering more activities.”
The City’s Recreation Department currently runs group fitness classes and children’s activities but plans to add weekly group activities such as card games, bingo, and crafts. Additionally, new events will be introduced such as guest speakers, clinics and clubs.
The City invites you to be one of the first to visit the new Community Center located at 110 Ocean Street in Cape May and learn more about this exciting addition to the Recreation Department.
