Cape May City “Sends Off” Summer with Fun-Filled Labor Day Weekend

CAPE MAY, NJ – As summer draws to a close, mark your calendars for a fun-filled Labor Day Weekend in Cape May! The weekend kicks off with a Cape May tradition – The Rich Reinhart Junior Clamshell Pitching Tournament! The longest-running contest of its kind in the region, the tournament is set for Friday, August 30^th on Windsor Beach (across from Congress Hall) in Cape May. Registration begins at 11 AM and the tournament starts at Noon. The tournament is free and open to boys and girls in two age groups: ages 6 to 11 and ages 12 to 17.

Cape May’s Annual “Summer Send Off” concert happens on Sunday, September 1^st on the deck of Convention Hall. This year’s lineup features local favorite Fat Mezz. Bring your beach chair and enjoy the live music from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. But wait! There’s more! Stick around for our final movie on the beach featuring Endless Summer immediately following Fat Mezz.  

Additionally, a variety of free concerts will be held in Rotary Park, located at 400 Lafayette Street. Bring a blanket or chair as seating is limited and enjoy the music beginning at 7:00 PM. The weekend lineup is as follows:

              Saturday, August 31^st – The Raggamuffins

              Sunday, September 1^st - Originaire

              Monday, September 2^nd – The John Walter Cape Community Band
