On May 5th, The Cape May County Board of Freeholders and the Co-Chairs of the County-Wide Recovery Initiative proposed a safe, thoughtful and progressive reopening proposal (read it here) of Cape May County in the time of Covid-19. The goal of the Recovery Initiative is to facilitate a safe, progressive reopening of Cape May County over the next several weeks, subject to strict mitigation protocols and culminating in the most responsible reopening of many of its public and business facilities. Cape May County has suffered a mild outbreak and a downward trend appears to be underway. We encourage you to call or search the websites of your favorite places for the latest information.

The Beaches and Boardwalks in Cape May County (Ocean City south to Cape May) are now open with certain capacity restrictions and social distance guidelines. Boardwalk eateries are take-out only and stores are open for curbside pick-up. Amusements, Arcades, Event Gatherings, Fireworks are currently prohibited.
Restaurants in Cape May County are open for pick-up/take-out only and Retail Stores are operating with curbside pickup only.
Golf Courses are open with certain restrictions and guidelines. Charter fishing services, for-hire vessel activities, as well as Watercraft Rental businesses are open with required social distancing measures.
Hotels & Motels will begin operations at 60% of capacity, with appropriate mitigation protocols, on June 1, 2020. Thereafter, hotels would move to full capacity on June 22, 2020. The industry has provided a comprehensive mitigation protocols to follow.
Short Term Vacation Rentals of residential units will begin on June 1, 2020 with mitigation protocols strictly followed. Note: rental regulations may differ by municipality.
