Cape May County is filled with year Summer Fun!
With still plenty of summer before kids get back to school, the Jersey Cape is in full summer mode with beach fun, attractions, activities and a calendar packed with events and entertainment.
BOARDWALK FUN: The Jersey Cape's boardwalk attractions, amusement piers and waterparks will be in full operation through Labor Day, so squeeze in some more summer fun at Gillian's Wonderland Pier and Jilly's Arcade & Stores in Ocean City, or zoom over to Splash Zone Water Park and Morey's Piers in Wildwood to get totally wet and wild.
FOR THE KIDS: Get the kids in on the fun at Cape May's free Nature and Magic Shows on Sunday and Tuesday evenings at Convention Hall throughout the month of August. And what could be more fun than a watermelon eating contest at the 6th Annual Reeds & Seeds Watermelon Festival August 15th in Stone Harbor. Head over to the Cape May Lighthouse for Family Fun Day on August 16th for a variety of activities and entertainment. Then Explore the wonder of flight and relive history at the 21st Annual AirFest at the Aviation Museum Sept. 1 - 4.
UNIQUELY JERSEY CAPE: The Jersey Cape is known for uniquely creative events and the month of August offers some of the best with the Miss Crustacean Hermit Crab Beauty Contest in Ocean City on August 16th. Go to the Wildwood Boardwalk on August 17th for Third Thursday at artBOX where you can mingle with visiting artists while having a glass of wine. Plan to visit Historic Cold Spring Village for Seafarers' Weekend beginning August 26th for a look at crafts and lifestyles of early America. Get a look at the Pickleball craze in Stone Harbor on September 3rd that offers a fun tournament for all ages.
SHOPPING: The months of August and September are a shoppers delight so head over to the Cape May Promenade or the Wildwood Boardwalk Craft Shows on August 12th and 19th respectively for unique finds. Visit Ocean City for Funtastic Tuesdays in August with great deals and entertainment along the shopping avenue. Then save some money for the can't miss Annual Stone Harbor Sidewalk Sale August 26th and with time permitting slipover to the Sports Card, Toys, Comics & Collectibles Show at the Wildwoods Convention Center on the same day.
FOOD & BEVERAGE: Among all of the upcoming activities, you'll find plenty of food events and restaurants ready to serve. Enjoy a sampling of great restaurants at Wildwoods Restaurant Week from August 27th - September 1st. Join the Fall Food Truck Festival in Sea Isle City Sept. 8-10. Of course, Jersey Fresh produce is still available at weekly farmer's markets in Ocean City, Stone Harbor and Wildwood. Among the new beverage options at the Jersey Cape is Nauti Spirits Distillery with a great selection of locally made rums to taste and enjoy.
WATERSPORTS & SIGHTSEEING: The fishing and crabbing are still hot so jump aboard one of the many local fishing boats or rent your own. With the ocean water at its warmest, have fun with a jetski rental or go parasailing at East Coast Parasail & Jetski. Hop aboard one of the comfortable sightseeing boats for a nature, sunset or dinner cruise around the Cape.
THEATER - ART - MUSIC: With fantastic shows playing all month long, theater lovers will not want to miss the last performances of "Ah Wilderness" at East Lynne Theater thru Sept. 2nd and "The Gin Game” at Cape May Stage thru Sept. 22nd.
