Cape May County is filled with Springtime Fun!
Summer is heating up here at the Jersey Cape with tons of Independence Day events going on throughout the Cape. The months of June and July continue to showcase a fabulous list of events for visitors to enjoy along with the beach and watersports weather. In the Wildwoods on the 4th, get in on the fun at the North Wildwood Pooch Parade where dogs of all shapes and sizes will parade along Atlantic Ave. at 9:00 AM dressed in patriotic garb alongside decorated bicycles. Then before the Wildwoods fireworks, enjoy the regalia of String Band Performances on Atlantic Ave. from 16th Ave. to the Convention Center starting at 7:30 PM.
In Ocean City, a daylong schedule of events awaits your arrival. First, get started in the morning by taking part in the annual July 4th Bike Parade starting at the Longport Bridge parking lot at 9:00 AM. Then at 6:00 PM enjoy "A Star Spangled Salute" mini-show featuring Ocean City Theatre Co. Spotlight Performers Show Choir at the Music Pier. A free Kite Flying Contest will take off on 9th St. at 6 p.m.
Over in Sea Isle City, the 4th is sure to please as well with the Jr. Olympics in the morning at Dealy Field, then a patriotic concert featuring The Patriot Brass Ensemble at Excursion Park beginning at 7:30. Then a rousing fireworks display provides a perfect ending to a fun filled day.
The Seven Mile Island of Avalon and Stone Harbor are rolling out the Independence Day entertainment as well. Head over to Avalon Community Hall for a concert by the Bay-Atlantic Symphony at 7:00 PM followed by the fireworks on the 4th. Stone Harbor starts its Independence Day Celebration early with the Jazz & Blues Concert and Fireworks on July 2nd at the 96th St. beach pavilion starting at 7:30 PM.
If you're planning to visit Cape May look for entertaining theater with "Chapter Two" at Cape May Stage and "On the Sunny Side of the Street" at East Lynne Theater, or enjoy a free rousing concert by the Congress Street Brass Band at Rotary Park at 7:00 PM.
For food lovers, head over the the Anglesea Nightmarket and Food Truck event in North Wildwood at 7:30 PM on July 5th. Then plan to visit the NJ State Barbeque Championships in North Wildwood July 13th - 15th.
For nature and history lovers, plan to be at Crabulous Crab Day on July 13th at the Wetlands Institute in Stone Harbor for special family fun and all things crab. Or head over to the pet friendly Naval Air Station Wildwood Avaition Museum for Props and Hops every Tuesday - Thursday in July to sample local craft beers and a tour of the awe inspiring interactive displays.
